The Teaching of Eckhart Tolle

Eckhart Tolle is regarded as the most popular spiritual teacher in the nation at this time. He was born in Germany in 1968 and lived there until he and his father moved to Spain when he was thirteen years old. At the age of nineteen, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he attended the University of London and Cambridge University. While in London, Eckhart worked with individuals as a spiritual teacher and counselor. He now resides in Vancouver Canada.

At the age of twenty nine, Eckhart Tolle claims to have had a spiritual awakening after suffering for years with depression and thoughts of suicide. This awakening is what started his journey of discovering himself and spiritual teaching. He also teaches people how to transform their conscious to a become more enlightened.

He says that most of mankinds unhappiness is a result of the way our brain processes situations, instead of the actual issue.

Eckhart Tolle has written a number of spiritual books that are very popular. His book The Power of Now is a New York Times bestseller and is translated in 33 different languages. This book, coupled with his follow up book, A New Earth, are regarded by many as two of the most influential books on spirituality in our time. Stillness Speaks is another one of his books that he wrote for the purpose of meditation. These are just a few of Tolle’s popular books on spiritual teaching.In addition to his books, Eckhart Tollealso has CDs, DVDs, and picture books that he has created. These are available for both adults and children.
